Accommodation

The Grand Meridian Resort provides 412 guest rooms and suites, with a contemporary Mediterranean design concept. Standard rooms start at 42 square metres and include marble bathrooms with rain showers. The seafront location means many rooms offer either full or lateral sea views. King suites add separate living areas, while the top-floor Grand Suite features a private terrace with a plunge pool. Housekeeping is thorough and discreet. We requested a late checkout and it was accommodated subject to availability.

Dining & Room Service

The resort's main restaurant, Marina Terrace, serves a breakfast buffet and an a la carte dinner menu focusing on Catalan and Spanish cuisine. The quality of produce is notable, with fresh seafood delivered daily. There is also a lighter cafe by the pool and a sophisticated cocktail lounge in the lobby. Room service operates 24 hours, though we found the menu slightly limited between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m.

Spa and Wellness

The Aurora Spa spans two floors and includes a thermal circuit with sauna, steam room, and experiential showers. Treatments use a Spanish organic skincare line. The indoor pool is heated and calm, while the outdoor infinity pool overlooks the beach. The gym is modern with excellent equipment for its size.

Pool and Recreation

The outdoor pool area is an adults-only space during peak summer months, which provides a peaceful atmosphere. There are plenty of sunbeds, and poolside service is friendly and efficient. For families, there is a separate second pool in the garden area which remains accessible for children all year round.

Location and Transport

The resort is located a 15-minute drive south of Barcelona city centre, directly across from the beach promenade. It is highly accessible by car; valet parking is available for an additional fee. The nearest metro station is 10 minutes by foot, allowing straightforward access to the Gothic Quarter. Barcelona-El Prat airport is approximately 20 minutes by taxi.

On-Site Casino

The casino floor is located in a separate wing of the resort, distinct from the main accommodation corridors. Entry is restricted to persons aged 18 and over, but the property notes that the minimum age may be higher depending on local regulations; this refers to Spanish law which requires patrons to be 18 or older. A valid original government-issued passport or national ID card is required for entry. The casino offers table games and electronic gaming machines. Dress code is smart casual. The venue does not accept cash at tables; a casino cashier desk operates withing the venue and guests can also use their room charge facility for convenience.
