Accommodation

Canal House Regency occupies a restored palazzo on a quiet canal near the centre of Venice. There are only 48 rooms and suites, all individually decorated with period furniture and modern amenities deftly hidden within the historic structure. Standard rooms have views over the courtyard or the canal; suites add original exposed beams and small sitting areas.

Dining & Room Service

The in-house restaurant is a classic Venetian osteria that focuses on seafood. The chef uses local suppliers and changes the menu weekly. There is also a handsome bar overlooking the canal that serves cicchetti, a local type of snack, and a good selection of Italian wines. Room service is available throughout the day, but the menu is limited after midnight.

Spa and Wellness

There is no major spa facility due to the building's historic constraints. There is a small wellness room with a steam shower. A massage service can be arranged in your room. Guests looking for a comprehensive spa experience should be aware that this property is not a wellness destination.

Pool and Recreation

There is no pool. The palazzo is instead focused on the experience of the city itself. The hotel provides a daily guided walk and can arrange private water-taxi tours of the lagoon. The atmosphere is quiet and refined, encouraging a slower pace of sightseeing.

Location and Transport

The property has its own water entrance, allowing private boats from the airport or the train station to drop guests at the front door. This is a major advantage given Venice's largely pedestrian-only streets. The Rialto Bridge is 10 minutes away on foot; St. Mark's Square takes about 25 minutes.

On-Site Casino

The casino salon is located on the ground floor in a separate wing of the palazzo. It is described by the property as a "salone da gioco." Under Italian law, the minimum age for casino entry is 18. Guests must present valid identification; the management states that a passport or EU ID card is required. Reserved dress code: evening wear is expected in the casino. The venue is quiet and kept separate from the accommodation floors.

Practical Visitor Information

Check-in from 14:00, check-out at 11:00. Wi-Fi is fast given the historic structure. Venice is a pedestrian city, so pack light; porters are available. The property is not a casino operator but hosts a licensed third-party casino within the palazzo.

Minimum Age for Casino Entry

Italian law sets a minimum gambling age of 18. The Casino's own policy may enforce stricter ID checks, but the legal minimum is clear. Always bring a valid ID document.

Sources and Verification

Details are based on direct correspondence with the hotel in March 2025, and review of public Italian gaming regulations. We have not audited the casino's operation.
